In the old portion of Westfield Cemetery, there is a stone erected by The Quinebaug Company in 1928 for all its employees whose names are not known. Can anyone tell me about this stone? How could the names be unknown if the people were on the company payroll? was there a disaster? Disease?

Hi Candi,

We do not know the story behind this monument. I am thinking that it would take looking thru the 1928 Windham County Transcript Newspapers to see if there is anything about it in there. I have not had time to do this but would like to. Thank you for writing us.
